The giant honey bee (<em data-start=\"532\" data-end=\"546\">Apis dorsata<\/em>), by contrast, is generally not domesticated due to its aggressive behavior, making it difficult to manage and thus rarely kept in captivity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"692\" data-end=\"972\">From the beekeeper\u2019s perspective, each type of beekeeping presents distinct <strong data-start=\"768\" data-end=\"800\">advantages and disadvantages<\/strong>. For instance, when confronted by a wasp, native honey bees employ a defense mechanism known as <strong data-start=\"1356\" data-end=\"1374\">\u201cheat balling\u201d<\/strong>\u2014surrounding the wasp in a cluster while vibrating their thoracic muscles to raise the temperature until the wasp overheats and dies.
